Wahkohtowin means "everything is related"

“The creator created this universe and everything. That universe relates to us, we don’t relate to it. It relates to us. As we are on this earth, we are related to everything that is in creation – the trees, everything, the grass, the rock. It’s part of the earth, like we are.” – Elder George Brertton

Wahkohtowin is one of the basic principles of Cree Natural Law passed through language, song, prayer, and storytelling. Elders George Brertton, Fred Campiou, Isaac Chamakese and William Dreaver, give insight into the differences between Canadian law and Cree Natural Law and why Natural Law is needed in contemporary society.

They explain that by following the teachings of Wahkohtowin individuals, communities and societies are healthier.
