Mentoring for Youth and Young Adults from Care Project (MYYAC)

Transition to Adulthood - Mentoring for Youth and Young Adults from Care Project (MYYAC) is a mentoring program for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who have been in the child intervention system. They have two options to get help:

  1. If you don't have a specific person in mind, you can be matched with a mentor by a mentoring agency that helps with this. The agency will find a mentor who can give you guidance and support.
  2. If you already have a person in your life whom you feel comfortable with, like a family member or a friend, you can ask that person to become your formal mentor. Both you and the mentor will get support and training.

This program is currently available in certain communities but may expand to more places in the future.

If you're interested in joining this program, you can talk to your Child Intervention Practitioner or your TAP Practitioner. They can help you make a referral to get involved.
