Youth Court

Youth Court is for youth who are 12 to 17 years of age. Here are some guidelines to help you when you arrive. Show Up: Failure to appear makes things worse. Dress Nicely: It shows the court you are serious. Arrive Early: So you can figure out where to go. Don't Go Alone: Professionals are there to help you.

Important: Contact any of these professionals below at least 2 weeks in advance of your court. Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) Court worker. Website: www.ncsa.ca A lawyer of your choice. They can help you understand your charges and options.

Did You Know? The Youth Court system actually wants you to be successful. But there are conditions: Accept responsibility for your crime, Make reparations, Follow through on court conditions, Attend programs you say you will, Communicate with support workers.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act is designed to keep youth out of custody by: Addressing issues that contributed to your crime, Connecting you to a program.
